ANOTHER TRY

When the President discloses the identity of CIA operative Garris Kelley after he kills an international drug lord, Kelley's life begins to unravel. His troubles escalate when he comes to the aid of Senator Frank Beemer after a shooting on the Portland, Oregon, metro. Richard Poe is a skillful narrator, whether channeling Kelley and his various pursuers or portraying FBI Agent Gayle Wilson, whose search for a missing colleague further complicates Kelley's life. The result is an entertaining first novel that benefits from Poe's excellent dialogue, ability to portray distinctive characters, and adept use of nuance and pacing.
