GOOD MORNING, IRENE

by | Read by Virginia Leishman, Patrick Tull

Mystery & Suspense • 12.5 hrs. • Unabridged • © 1990

In this sequel to the GOOD NIGHT, MR. HOLMES pastiche, the adventuress Irene Adler, who first foiled Sherlock in "A Scandal in Bohemia," lives in exile with her dashing husband in Paris. Wishing the world to believe her dead, she must cool her heels. She turns to solving crimes involving such historical personages as Bram Stoker, author of DRACULA, and Sarah Bernhardt. Sections from the Holmes/Watson points of view are narrated by Patrick Tull, who sounds slightly geriatric for the 40ish sleuths. The bulk of the narrative flows gracefully from Virginia Leishman's lips. She beautifully explores the gothic Victorian fare, erring only by frequently popping the mike.
