Erin Tripp narrates this brief and interesting history highlighting scientists, events, and discoveries that led to our modern science of biology. From the Islamic Golden Age of the 8th century through the Renaissance, the field of biology lurched forward in fits and starts until the scientific method firmly took hold and erased millennia of superstition and philosophical thinking. The microscope, dissections, the printing press, and a willingness to abandon or challenge previously accepted ideas drove the progress. The fact-heavy audiobook has occasional conversational asides, and Tripp delivers it all in a friendly, engaging tone. The production is somewhat uneven, however. Production edits are sometimes made obvious by changes in volume or tone. Other titles are planned in this series. L.T. © AudioFile 2025, Portland, Maine [Published: JULY 2025]
