Timothy Andrés Pabon narrates the story of Danilo with heartfelt emotions. In 1989, in the wake of the US military invasion of Panama, Danilo's neighborhood, El Chorillo, is destroyed. Recently abandoned by his father, Danilo tries to be strong for his mother and sister. When a baseball recruiter offers him a scholarship to play in California, Danilo is torn between his bright future and not leaving his mom and sister.
