TAXI SHOP

With a singsong jingle that announces their arrival at each new location, Nora and her father are selling used items from their taxi. But Nora is reluctant to part with anything--even if a buyer wants it. Her father is kind and understanding, however, and Nora keeps her favorite toys. It will likely take more than one listen to grasp this story for those who are not not familiar with Jamaican patois, but it's worth the effort to listen to its joyous delivery and musicality. An author's note would have helped immensely to explain the concept of a "taxi shop." Without the cover art, there is no way to tell that the girl and her father are traveling through space.
