This techo-thriller narrated by acclaimed actors Mia Hutchinson-Shaw and Tim Lounibos is set at a company called Infopendium, a fictional version of Wikipedia, during the pandemic. The narrators have a difficult task: to bring listeners into the world of passionate--and often partisan--editors who constantly jostle textually for their points of view to gain traction. Imagine one post that is countered by another, and another, often with a single phrase distinguishing the two. Freelance journalist Morgan Wentworth discovers that a global Infopendium conference has been hacked and decides to find out who's involved. For listeners, trying to untangle the back-and-forth of multiple editors is difficult--and ultimately unsatisfying. This interesting and timely plot, alas, doesn't translate from the page despite the narrators' best efforts. L.W.S. © AudioFile 2025, Portland, Maine [Published: APRIL 2025]
