Three narrators present the story of a young, renowned playwright, Sarah, who died in a fall off the cliffs of Capri thirty years ago. Every year since, her wealthy family has returned for a week at a lush villa. This year, Sarah's daughter, Helen, portrayed by Carlotta Brentan, is shaken by the appearance of the necklace her mother was wearing the night she died. Brentan reveals Helen's growing belief that her mother's death wasn't accidental, and she secretly collaborates with the family's assistant, Lorna, performed by Allyson Ryan, to find out more. The story's frequent jumps in time and point of view could have been clarified for the listener by narrators with more dissimilar voices. Cassandra Campbell's crisp narration adeptly handles the other chapters. N.M.C. © AudioFile 2025, Portland, Maine [Published: MAY 2025]
