In her war-torn country, Mila Kiss has been falsely accused by her brother-in-law of murdering her sister. To make matters worse, her sister's children have disappeared. Mila quickly signs up for a refugee program that will send her to England. Narrator Frankie Porter portrays Mila as soft-spoken but very much a loner. Porter clearly presents the complicated circumstances that land Mila in the village. Nearby is a castle owned by handsome, young Lord Fabien. He commits to helping Mila clear her name and find her sister's children. Porter smoothly performs a myriad of character voices and accents, particularly Slavic and English. Especially notable is her humorous performance of the local constables. E.E.S. © AudioFile 2025, Portland, Maine [Published: MAY 2025]
