DISCO WITCHES OF FIRE ISLAND

Daniel Henning's talent for voicing larger-than-life characters brings a group of drag queen witches to life. It's 1989, and Joe plans to spend a summer bartending on Fire Island, a known gay hotspot. Joe is heartbroken over the loss of his boyfriend and is quickly taken in by a couple of older gay men who are secretly disco witches tasked with protecting the island and other young gays from tragedy. But the AIDS epidemic has taken so many witches that their powers are waning. Henning smoothly differentiates a large cast of characters, emotionally connecting with their tragedies and burgeoning romances. Henning utilizes consistent pacing and excellent comedic timing as Joe grapples with his developing crush on a ferryman and a mysterious presence on the beach.
