THE MARS ANOMALY

by | Read by Jamie Renell

Science Fiction • 9.5 hrs. • Unabridged • © 2024

Jamie Renell's narration of this science fiction is primarily told from the points of view of two characters: Christer Johannsen, a UN data analysis specialist, and Dr. Rachel Fereira, a linguist. On Earth a solar flare takes out the power everywhere but in Jakara, and the Mars Reconnaissance Orbiter starts transmitting images of Mars. NASA heads an international task force to find out why. Renell uses accents to distinguish some characters, reminding listeners that many countries are involved. In alternate chapters, Renell shows the intensity of Christer's investigation in Jakara and Rachel's transformation into an astronaut who joins the crew headed to Mars. Renell conveys the enthusiasm of the scientists for the discoveries they're making as they learn how the two events are linked. J.E.M. © AudioFile 2025, Portland, Maine [Published: OCTOBER 2025]
