BIBLIOTHERAPY IN THE BRONX

by | Read by Wesleigh Siobhan

Contemporary Culture • 8 hrs. • Unabridged • © 2025

Emely Rumble, LCSW, has written an important and meaningful resource for those working in counseling, social work, and public libraries or for anyone interested in achieving emotional growth through literature. It's wonderful that there's an audio version. That said, Wesleigh Siobhan is not the best choice for its narration. Her lilting, animated tones and emphasis on verbs and adjectives become awkward very quickly. Each word is completely understandable, but the tempo of her narration does not lend itself to nonfiction. The author's thesis is that people can glean therapeutic insights from reading. Rumble's experience as a psychotherapist in the Bronx has given her a unique perspective on the effectiveness of navigating complex emotions with literature.
