SWEPT AWAY

In this British romance novel narrated by Connor Swindells and Rebekah Hinds, Lexi and Zeke have both had rough days when they agree to one no-strings-attached night of passion on Zeke's houseboat. The next morning, they wake up adrift in the North Sea after a mishap with the boat's ropes. Hinds captures Lexi's gruff determination, while Swindells is vulnerable and self-deprecating as Zeke. The couple's fun banter and snappy dialogue does lighten the mood, even in dire conditions. This is a love story, but it's not a light listen. Both narrators realistically convey the fear that plague Lexi and Zeke throughout inclement weather, dwindling food supplies, and serious injuries.
