Annoying, whiny, amoral, and greedy are the best words to describe all the losers in this less than enjoyable audio production. The story focuses on Bobby Cameron, handsome but troubled cowboy and wunderkind horse trainer, who meets beautiful, talented 17-year-old former jockey Milly Lockwood Groves. Milly is banned from racing by her father, a renowned horse breeder, and her mother, a narcissistic social climber. Gillian Doyle's characterizations, carried out mostly through a varying of pitch, add little to the audio experience. The listener can't help noticing that both the sex scenes and vulgar language in this story are frequent and gratuitous. A.C.P. © AudioFile 2007, Portland, Maine [Published: APR/ MAY 07]
