Celebrated narrator David Timson recounts how self-styled criminologist Ambrose Chitterwick witnesses a murder in the lounge of London's Piccadilly Palace Hotel and later investigates what took place. Timson accurately and sympathetically portrays the diffident, unprepossessing sleuth whose deductive powers listeners come to respect. Timson delivers an appropriate tone for this work, authentically presenting the zeitgeist of the setting and the character of the English upper class.
