A DAY AT THE BEACH

by | Read by Ramón de Ocampo, Victoria Villareal

Children Ages 8+ • 4 hrs. • Unabridged • © 2025

Ramón de Ocampo and Victoria Villareal throw themselves into the portrayal of two dozen kids and a couple of dogs, who are spending the day at a New Jersey beach. First, we hear the voices of siblings Jackie and Simon as they run on the empty beach. Later, the beach becomes crowded with people of varied classes and ethnicities. De Ocampo portrays a Cuban teen idol who is trying to avoid being recognized and another character named Octavio, who loses his swimming trunks in the surf. Villareal is Carla, who organizes a "circus" on the beach. Also part of the story are a flash mob, a father yelling at his kid, and a lost dog who talks. The narrators are equal to it all.
