Zeno Robinson's lively narration anchors the third installment in Flake's series about Black teenagers who are navigating tricky relationships with each other, their parents, and the world at large. Robinson's John-John is pitch-perfect as a young man who affects a brash persona to cover insecurities, letting his real feelings leak out only around the edges. He narrates the story's short, snappy chapters with energy and creates believable voices for both the adults in John-John's life and for his closest friends--Caleb, Maleeka, and Charlese--who all featured in the previous audiobooks in the series.
