Frankie Corzo narrates the story of 13-year-old Dorani Gutierrez, a champion of justice whose mother dies suddenly and tragically. Practically overnight, Dori must leave her Florida friends for a Wyoming horse ranch. There she's unfamiliar with both the weather and the aunt she's to live with. At the ranch, Dori encounters a damaged horse, Sunshine, whom she recognizes as a kindred spirit. As Dori helps Sunshine heal and trust again, the horse reciprocates as Dori struggles to move on with her new life. The listener is drawn in by Corzo's spot-on accents for the many cultures represented, which add a deeper layer to the story. Corzo covers entitled teens, sympathetic adults, grieving families, and supportive friends seamlessly and authentically. She paints vivid pictures with her narration.
