Vale serves as Key's guardian, protecting her from black market hunters. When Key dives too far back, she uncovers a memory that threatens to destabilize the museum. Friends quickly turn to enemies as Key and Vale navigate betrayal and fight to keep Key's consciousness in the present. Waites complements Vale's strong Southern drawl with Key's methodical speech patterns. While Waites's narration falls slightly short of immersive, fantasy listeners will enjoy her fun performance.
