Channie Waites delivers a committed narration of this queer fantastical thriller about memory and legacy. Key, one of the most celebrated memory hunters of her time, is able to dive back into history to pull out relevant stories for the Museum of Human Memory. Vale serves as Key's guardian, protecting her from black market hunters. When Key dives too far back, she uncovers a memory that threatens to destabilize the museum. Friends quickly turn to enemies as Key and Vale navigate betrayal and fight to keep Key's consciousness in the present. Waites complements Vale's strong Southern drawl with Key's methodical speech patterns. While Waites's narration falls slightly short of immersive, fantasy listeners will enjoy her fun performance.
