When Manon Altier signs up for classes at L'Ecole des Trois Gourmandes, she meets Julia Child and begins to confront her own confusing past. Maarleveld switches among British, American, and French accents fluidly, bringing the characters to life with nuanced emotions. Her delivery of the French passages sounds authentic, and she captures Julia Child's well-known timbre without sounding caricatured.
