Two narrators portray Claire as she returns to her hometown. She's still haunted by her sister's murder years earlier. While there, she takes a job on a local farm run by the eccentric Mitchell and his wife, Marcia. After Claire discovers Marcia's hidden diary, she learns of a sinister cult that her sister may have been involved with. Karissa Vacker's talents are on full display as she crafts a believable Claire and a highly sinister Mitchell. Her spot-on pacing masterfully builds the plot's tension. Marcia's story is woven in through her diary entries, which are narrated by Helen Laser. The change of voice clearly defines the flashback sections.
