LAST SHOT

This riveting thriller raises interesting moral questions. Stephen Hoye's sensitive narration fits Hurwitz's sympathetic and complex characters to a tee. Hoye's pacing and delivery are excellent, and he smoothly adjusts to accommodate the emotions of both the dialogue and the narrative passages. U.S. Marshall Tim Rackley investigates the daring prison escape of Walker Jameson, a dishonored Marine. As the story unfolds, Rackley uncovers the death of Jameson's sister and discovers its relationship to the dark side of a pharmaceutical company's research on viruses.
