Elaine Castillo performs her novel featuring a millennial woman living in Las Vegas with her extended family who is trying to get by after losing everything in the 2008 financial crisis. She spends her days wading through the worst humanity has to offer at her job as a moderator for a major social media company. When she accepts a promotion to work in her company's new virtual reality division, she's intrigued by her new boss, William, whose passion for the project is infectious. Castillo's performance captures Girlie's apathetic narrative voice at the beginning of the novel.
