HAIRY MAN

Southern storyteller David Holt delivers six downhome tales with lively, if uneven, style. The original tales of side one have integrity and a distinct southern flavor. The traditional tales and adaptations, including "Wiley and the Hairy Man," are told with uneven voice and bothersome changes in the story line. There is music throughout, arranged and performed by Holt. Particularly engaging is the story of "Groundhog and the Hogaphone," but overall the stories are not memorable.
