Sara Amini returns to narrate the majority of the second book in the Charlatan Duology. Charlie's lover, the powerful shadow Vince, lost his memories of their time together after becoming tethered to her. Amini's narration captures Charlie's trademark cynicism, as well as her heartbreak and feelings of vulnerability as she struggles with having a shadow that doesn't care about her at all and has no interest in keeping her alive. Now that she's the new Hierophant, Charlie is ordered to track down the murderous shadow responsible for a massacre at a local church. As more characters are introduced, Amini expertly differentiates them, including several sinister-sounding shadows. Jonathan Davis and Vikas Adam narrate interactive segments in which Vince is interviewed, using his previous name, Red. A.K.R.
