Narrator Lois Chimimba's delightful Scottish brogue adds authenticity to this mystery. Forensic scientist Dr. Claudia Atkins O'Sheil fights upper-class privilege and corruption to get to the truth of a murder case involving the possible wrongful convictions of a couple. Chimimba gives an empathetic tone to Dr. O'Sheil as she realizes how disproven techniques in forensic science may have caused her to put innocent people in jail. Chimimba shines as she portrays the scientist's inner conflict over questions she could easily sweep under the rug. Instead, she decides the truth is essential and risks blowing up her career and personal life by revealing how junk science failed to serve justice.
