Sneha Mathan soothingly delivers a love story between two writers who are divided by family, geography, and melancholy. Sonia, who writes short stories, is first plagued by loneliness at school in Vermont. Sunny, a journalist, is troubled by the dissonance in his life. An attempt by Sonia's family to match the two is foiled by Sunny's mother, an act that only postpones a fated affair. Through years and continents, Mathan takes the couple from glance to embrace, weaving the conflict expertly into the characters' dialogue. Mathan's smooth intonation has only one downside: It is perhaps too meditative. While this production may not be the best choice for a long drive, Mathan navigates the generational nuances with care.
