THE COWGIRL AUNT OF HARRIET BEAN

The Harriet Bean series, only recently available in the United States, is becoming increasing popular among young readers. This third in the series finds 9-year-old Harriet ready for travel and adventure. When Thesalonika and Japonica, two of Harriet's eccentric aunts, invite her to her to visit the U.S., she discovers a cattle-rustling mystery, as well as ANOTHER aunt. Rather than the rambunctious and rowdy tone one might expect in a cowboy yarn, listeners will hear Charlotte Parry's British accent, which lends the story a refined tone. Her interpretation complements the quirky personalities of the aunts and provides a counterpoint to the culprits who are eventually discovered and made to see the error of their ways.
