INVISIBLE PREY

In John Sanford's latest novel, Richard Ferrone demonstrates how a narrator can transform a mundane thriller into a thoroughly enjoyable experience. While the story of the search for the murderer of two elderly women takes a few unpredictable turns, the dialogue of this seventeenth Lucas Davenport story is a bit predictable, Still, Ferrone ably provides every character with a unique voice, especially the heroes and villains who populate the fringes of the story. In doing so, Ferrone draws the listener more deeply into the book and makes INVISIBLE PREY a far better experience than it would be with a lesser performance.
