THE PINHOE EGG

New friends Cat Chant and Marianne Pinhoe are teenagers in the magical world of Ulverscote. Their adventures in this sixth installment of the Chrestomanci series require both girls to develop their newly emerging magical skills. The crazy matriarch of Marianne's clan has secretly launched a war of nasty spells against a rival clan. Also, the kids discover a huge, mysterious egg in an abandoned attic. Gerard Doyle shines in this lively performance, portraying a believably wacky grandma and adding zest to the array of aunts, uncles, and other adults.
