APACHE DRUMS

by | Read by John Chancer

Western • 4.5 hrs. • Unabridged • ©

Captain Ambrose Ellington and his men are stationed in the area known as Apacharia, north of the Mexican border, to control Apache raiders. Two of his men are captured by renegades in league with the Apaches and must escape. John Chancer does a very good job with the characterizations in the story, which include whites and natives, young and old, educated and uneducated. He maintains the pace, enhancing the story, which is a good enough Western. For some readers the stereotypical treatment of Native Americans will detract.
