THE TALENTED CLEMENTINE

As Talentpaloosa: Night of the Stars approaches, Clementine panics. Unlike "that Margaret," Clementine's nemesis, or her friend Mitchell, Clementine is not sure she has a talent to share. So she gets creative to find one. Jessica Almasy narrates the school scene deftly--especially Clementine's commentary, not always shared, on what classmates say or teachers plan. Almasy excels at creating the all-knowing teacher, the cocky class clown, the exasperated principal, and the barely coping parents. And she shines as Clementine. Bottle-cap taps hammered into sneakers? An Elvis impersonation? Jessica Almasy sounds intense, animated, and totally involved in each one of Clementine's creative ideas and its humorous execution.
