THE TENDERNESS OF WOLVES

Alternating narration reveals fascinating characters in this mystery, set in nineteenth-century Canada. Scotswoman Mrs. Ross, eloquently read by Sally Armstrong, discovers the murdered and scalped French trapper Laurent Jammet. At the same time, her 17-year-old son goes missing, and she tracks him to the Norwegian settlement of Himmelvanger. Meanwhile, Donald Moody, read by Adam Sims, is sent by the Hudson Bay Company to investigate. A myriad of mysteries are unveiled—long-missing white teenagers, an enigmatic code carved on a bone, a curious half-Indian tracker, and the questionable leader of the Himmelvanger settlement, as well as the disappearance of some of its members.
