In this book, Eisen is, well, Eisen. It's hard to imagine anyone other than this author reading his work. The ex-ESPN anchor who joined the growing NFL Network in its infancy mixes insight with humor. The book's only fault is that it sometimes devolves into a name-dropping promotion of the network, which the NFL owns. But for the most part, it includes humorous observations--what really goes on at Pro Bowl festivities, for example--and keen descriptions--such as how Draft Day works. Along the way, Eisen shares the high jinks he and his colleagues get into. Eisen knows his voice; like a good running back he knows when to pour it on. Fans who want to hear about the NFL from an interviewer's vantage will glean knowledge in a fun way. M.B. © AudioFile 2008, Portland, Maine [Published: APR/ MAY 08]
