THE SIGN OF THE SALAMANDER An Adventure through Time

American teenager and history buff Henry Carter is touring France when he falls through a time portal. The next thing he knows he finds himself in sixteenth-century Amboise--with Leonardo da Vinci as his neighbor. Talmadge Ragan narrates smoothly, but her delivery lacks intensity. Her strength is her consistent use of accents and a variety of speech patterns. In particular, her performance perfectly conveys the French accents and Gallic personalities of Henry's new family, the Bonaventures. Through Henry, listeners will learn about the period and the work of da Vinci, as well as his compassion and gentle spirit.
