JOHN ROSEMOND'S SIX-POINT PLAN FOR RAISING HAPPY, HEALTHY CHILDREN

Rosemond offers common-sense advice about parenting, interspersed with less valuable gender stereotyping. If the listener survives Rosemond's preaching throughout the first two tapes, the rewards of the final hour are worthwhile. There Rosemond turns his focus from what's wrong with the modern family to encouraging creativity and play with children. Likewise, his tone becomes more encouraging, less mechanical and accusatory. The remainder of the material, however, becomes monotonous as Rosemond lectures, rarely changing his inflection At one point during the reading, actors are used to dramatize specific points. Had these animated examples been used throughout, the listener could stay absorbed in the material and glean more information from the rhetoric.
