KING SOLOMON'S CARPET

To New Yorkers, the London Underground seems a model subway system. Apparently, the British view differs. "The Tube" is the lair of Axel Jones, the fascinating complex villain of King Solomon's Carpet. Vine is in her usual fine form as a spinner of intricately woven tapestries of criminal psychology. The audio interpretation by Davina Porter, though technically flawless, may strike some listeners as a bit chilly or detached; it is less than ideal vocal companionship for a lengthy journey in delightfully mysterious terrain.
