LANTERN FOR THE DARK

by | Read by Kara Wilson

Fiction • 14 hrs. • Unabridged • © 1992

Set in eighteenth-century Scotland, this novel is an adventure, a historical picture, a romance and a mystery. It's also very good listening. Clare Kelos is being tried for the murder of her infant son. Author Jessica Stirling creates full characters, puts them in a colorful environment and intimates a sequel. Narrator Kara Wilson takes a good novel and turns it into grand entertainment. Her pleasant vocal tone never interrupts the flow of the action. Even though she varies her voice for dialogue, she makes no great leaps in register, and the smoothness of her reading is pleasurable. J.P. ©AudioFile, Portland, Maine [Published: FEB 94]
