THE LEGEND OF RED HORSE CAVERN

This recent addition to the Gary Paulsen World of Adventure series finds 10-year-old Will and his friend, Sarah, exploring nearby caverns in hopes of finding an ancient Apache statue; their fun adventure turns sinister when they encounter two bandits hiding in the caves. Jeff Woodman narrates this action-filled, suspenseful page-turner with excellence. Of special note is Woodman's exceptional rendering of the various characters--Will's Apache grandfather telling the chilling tale of Red Horse, Will's youthful energy, and the crooks' growling nastiness. Woodman's talent for steady, clear pacing and suspense-building makes him a natural for relating Paulsen's adventure tale.
