THE LEPER OF ST. GILES

A lovely, though thoroughly joyless, young woman arrives at the abbey to wed a brutal man. When the bridegroom is murdered, the young man who loves her must find a way to free her and himself. He finds help from a most unexpected source. Patrick Tull, who has done all of the Cadfael narrations for Recorded Books, has modified his slow pacing and presents a passionate rendering reminiscent of the debut in the series. His gruff, gravelly voice is quintessential Cadfael, yet with subtle changes in inflection and intonation he also excels at the resigned young woman, her intense lover, and the mysterious stranger who helps them.
