LIEBERMAN’S LAW

by | Read by Scott Harrison

Mystery & Suspense • 11 hrs. • Unabridged • © 1996

Like other Kaminsky novels, this detective story is richly interwoven with the personal lives of the principals and the social fabric of their community. Like other Kaminsky “heroes,” Chicago policeman Abe Lieberman is world-weary and aging but highly competent and deeply humane. Like it or not, whoever records a Kaminsky novel must face comparison of his work with the superb readings of Mark Hammer and George Guidall. Scott Harrison doesn’t come off well in such a comparison. He sounds like a youngster just learning the craft. His reading of Lieberman’s Law is serviceable but no more. The strength of the novel carries him and sustains the listener’s interest. J.N. ©AudioFile, Portland, Maine [Published: APR/MAY 99]
