LITERARY BRITAIN

Imagine taking an automobile tour through the United Kingdom narrated by a charming friend whose anecdotes make the trip a sheer delight. Such is the experience the listener receives when Ronald Hutton guides either the armchair or “real” travelers through literary Britain. Even for those quite knowledgeable about English literature and authors, Hutton offers new tidbits of information--warts and all-- about such luminaries as Robert Burns, Beatrix Potter and Shakespeare. The narration is excellent and even includes road directions. The finishing touch is the narrator’s humor; he delivers his little gems of information with characteristic British wit and understatement.
