A week after Sir Winston Churchill died on January 24, 1965, thousands of Britons braved the freezing weather to say good-bye to one of the greatest political leaders of the century. This recording recalls that solemn day through interviews with many who attended, some recorded on the day of the funeral, others reflecting on it years later. We hear from Churchill's family members, a church bell ringer, a Royal Guardsman, and many others. There is also some magnificent journalism by the BBC's legendary Richard Dimbleby, who did the live commentary just 11 months before his own death.
