MASTERS OF DECEPTION

This account of teenaged hackers breaking into phone-system computers could easily pass for heavy-handed, melodramatic fiction. Richard Poe, who is worthy of better things, picks up wholeheartedly on the mood of the text, reading with an urgent intensity that almost offsets the dull, poorly paced writing.
