THE MEN OF BREWSTER PLACE

The Women of Brewster Place launched Gloria Naylor and was filmed for television. Now the author returns to the housing project on Brewster with a similar series of first-person narratives of its male inhabitants. Joe Morton--an excellent, if colorless, actor--impersonates these men, while the author herself bridges each section as the spirit of the place.
