NADIA-OF THE NIGHTWITCH SQUADRON

Although this is fictionalized, The Night Witches were actually one of three squadrons of female pilots trained in Russia during WWII. Considered expendable, the women flew some of the most daring combat missions in ill-equipped, obsolete, open-cockpit biplanes. Reader Lynda Evans portrays 17-year-old Nadia with a bright voice and heavy Russian accent. Nadia desires revenge for her family's demise at the hands of the Germans and will go to any lengths to achieve it, taking daring risks in the air. Evans's depiction of Nadia's abilities creates edge-of-the-seat entertainment . Unfortunately poor packaging graphics contradict the great story inside.
