However, his intense, authoritative interpretation sometimes sounds at odds with the author's soft message that we need more intimacy, generosity, vulnerability, and candor in our relationships at work. The author, a management consultant and trainer, says his own career didn't blossom until he opened up to a small group of mentors and shared his vulnerabilities and personal challenges.
