Welcome to one of the weirdest radio comedies you’ll ever hear! Noel Fielding and Julian Barratt are Vince and Howard, zookeepers in a magical and quirky zoo with very few animals, run by grumpy American Bob Fossil (Rich Fulcher). The two British comedians/zookeepers endlessly riff on each other in an improv style, reeling from one random topic to another, such as jazz, rice, Isadora Duncan. The six half-hour episodes that make up the 2001 series (which won an award for comedy writing) begin with Howard and Vince apprehending a phantom that is stealing animals and ends with the pair transporting a poorly behaved prawn, picking up a hitchhiker, and finding themselves in the bizarre world of the “people of the box.” Every episode features hilarious songs that are central to the comedy experience.
