ODYSSEY

Although most of us grew up with a printed Odyssey, audio is its original and natural medium. Hearing Homer’s epic at its most dramatic is a unique experience. Odds Bodkin’s style draws the listener in from the first strum of the Celtic harp.This is not for purists, but it is a dynamic performance which takes advantage of theatrics to beguile listeners. The program is a mastery of storytelling as its length and complexity attest. Extensive preparation went into this program, which recreates the adventures of Odysseus and his men and comes with an intriguing map.
