In this first book of the SILVER DRAGON trilogy, May seems to be such a nice girl—with just a little baggage: She’s indebted to an arch-demon. Her twin sister is a beautiful thousand-year-old water sprite. She’s fallen in love with a dragon who takes the shape of a handsome and considerate human lover most of the time, but he’s a dragon just the same. The incomparable Barbara Rosenblat has a great time creating dark Eastern European dragon voices, menacing yet posh-sounding demon growls, and a hilarious doggie voice for Jim, the nosy pup. The most amazing thing about this erotic romance/fantasy/mystery is how Rosenblat makes May’s detailed descriptions of dragon love sound so everyday normal and natural. This is fantasy for grown-ups.
