Monterey Soundworks brings a classic of American horror to life in this full-cast performance. The Poe tales--“The Black Cat,” “The System of Dr. Tarr and Professor Fether,” “The Purloined Letter,” and “The Murders in the Rue Morgue”--are faithful adaptations of the originals. The acting throughout is uneven, with the many foreign accents badly overdone. But overall, these plays are pleasant entertainments based faithfully on classic stories of crime and horror.
